The Beginner Silversmithing Level I Class is a great way to enter the fun and creative world of jewellery making!
Students in this class will learn about the metals used in jewellery making, how to use silversmithing hand tools, and how to safely operate studio equipment.
Through demonstrations and hands on practice, students will learn: sawing, annealing, various soldering techniques, metal forming, texturing, filing, polishing, bezel setting a stone, and cutting & piercing.

Students in this class learn great techniques, and at the end of this class students will have completed a ring with a set stone and a pendant!!
NOTHING TO BUY! AND NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
Use of all hand and studio tools and equipment as well as the materials needed to make one sterling ring with a set cabochon stone and a sterling and copper pendant are included in this class price! The chain for pendant not is included, but we have a good variety of chains for sale in the store.

Wear comfortable “work” clothes, with full shoes, all hair tied back, and no scarves or sleeves that could present a hazard.
Car: FREE off street parking for students.
Walking: 5 minute walk from the Sapperton Skytrain station.
