This is the class you’ve been asking for – Bezel Set Cabochon Pendant!
Perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to bezel set stones on a back plate.
This one day class will focus on making a simple, but beautiful pendant setting for a flat-back cabochon stone. Two bezel options will be offered – flat or serrated. Depending on experience, students can also create some interest by sawing the back plate and/or adding ball embellishments. Students in this class will be doing a variety of silversmithing techniques, including; cutting, filing, bezel setting a cabochon stone, soldering, bail making, embellishments, and polishing.
This class is taught by Gwen Jongejan (see Instructor’s Bio)
No need to be a Pro but PRIOR SILVERSMTIHING EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED TO TAKE THIS CLASS
The Stone and Chain for your Pendant are not included in the price of this class. You are welcome to bring your own stone, or purchase one from Workingsilver at a 20% discount. Students with less experience are strongly encouraged to bring or purchase a Round or Oval Stone. More advanced students who are confident with their soldering and filing skills may bring stones with corners if they wish.
Students will be given the sterling sheet, wire, and bezel (1.5″ square sheet of sterling) to complete ONE Pendant. The student’s stone MUST measure less than 1.5″ (38mm) on the longest side. If possible please bring alternate stones as some may not be suitable for bezel setting.
